I'm the writer of my own life story
But making up the plot as I go along
I'm the only actor in my own life story
No feeding of lines, I'll improvise
Obsessions
Reflections
Questions, but not all the answers
A beginning, but no ending
Someone else gets to finish my masterpiece
I can say what I want to say
There'll be no censor's scissors snip
My use of silence
When words just aren't enough
Like a quiet riot
I'll be contradictory
But that's me, that's me
I won't put a palm tree in the background
When a hedge is my backdrop, honesty, honestly.

I'm the director of my own life story
I will cut out all the false takes not the mistakes.

I'm not in it for an Oscar, my moment in the spotlight
Just a cinema, with an audience of one.

Arctic blast of reality if my feet try to leave the floor
Sins thought of and sins done
I don't want to save the world
I just want to walk my talk
I swear it's the truth, the good and the bad
I swear it's the fool, the genius and the fraud
I'm the director of my own life story.

Before The Clouds Move Over Riding his purple Harley Davidson At a thoughtful controlled speed Along the dusty winding mountain top road Not long now, till he’s at his sanctuary. The power of music still revving In his inner voice, his heart and soul Unfinished choruses Half thought out melodies A musician that’s born, not made. All was quiet as the bike cooled down He sat in his favourite spot Looking down onto the lake No distractions here.
